Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

JagInsights is operated by JagInsights LLC, a Virginia company. This policy explains what we collect when you use jaginsights.com, why we collect it, who else touches it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version

  • To make an account we ask for two things: an email address and a password. That is it.
  • After that we store what your account creates as you learn and play: quiz results, module progress, XP, streaks, badges, game scores, friend requests, and your settings.
  • Budget Tools never send your numbers anywhere. They run in your browser and save to your own device.
  • There is no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking anywhere on this site.
  • We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never see your card number.
  • You can delete your account and everything attached to it yourself, from Settings, at any time.

1. What we do not do

Most privacy policies only tell you what a company takes. Here is the other half, and every line is something you can check by viewing the source of any page on this site.

  • No advertising. There are no ad networks, no ad slots, and no ad scripts on JagInsights.
  • No analytics. We do not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Plausible, PostHog, Mixpanel, Hotjar, Segment, or any other analytics or session-recording product.
  • No third-party tracking. Nothing on this site follows you to other websites, and we do not build advertising or behavioral profiles about you.
  • No selling or sharing your data. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by California law.
  • No cookies. JagInsights does not set any cookies. Keeping you signed in is handled by your browser's local storage instead (see section 5).
  • No card numbers. Payment card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout page and never reach us.
  • No selling of your progress. Your quiz answers, budgets, and game history are not a product we license to anyone.

The site's content security policy allows the browser to contact exactly three outside hosts: Supabase (your account data), Stripe (payments), and Google Fonts (typefaces). Everything else is blocked at the browser level.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Email address and password when you create an account. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is stored only as a salted hash — nobody at JagInsights can read it.
  • A marketing preference. Signup includes an optional, unticked opt-in checkbox for occasional product emails. If you leave it alone, you will not get them.
  • Your agreement to our Terms of Service and this policy, recorded as a required checkbox.
  • A username and, optionally, a short bio and an avatar. These are not collected at signup — you choose a username later, from your profile, and it is public (see section 7).

We do not ask for your age or date of birth, your real name, your phone number, your address, or any government ID.

Information your account creates as you use the site

Almost everything else we hold is generated by you using the product. Specifically:

  • Learning progress: quiz results and scores, and which modules and lessons you have worked through.
  • Progression: XP, daily streak, total minutes, badges earned, and any titles, flair, or game themes you have unlocked or equipped.
  • Game activity: best scores and per-session records for Budget Boss and Hostile Takeover — the game played, when the run ended, how long it lasted, the score, the XP earned, and the outcome.
  • Social: friend requests you send or receive.
  • Settings: your theme, sound preference, marketing preference, and which one-time intro screens you have already seen.
  • Subscription state: your plan, subscription status, renewal date, and the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers used to keep billing in sync. These identifiers are references, not card data.

Payment information

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. When you subscribe, you are taken to Stripe's own hosted checkout page and you enter your card details there. JagInsights never receives, sees, or stores your card number, CVC, or expiry date. What comes back to us is the fact that a subscription exists, its status, and the Stripe identifiers above.

Information collected automatically

We do not operate any analytics. However, like every website, JagInsights cannot be served without our hosting and database providers processing basic connection data — your IP address, browser user-agent, and the time and path of the request — in their own server logs, for delivery, rate-limiting, abuse prevention, and security. We do not use those logs to profile you, and we do not combine them with your account activity for marketing.

3. Budget Tools stay on your device

The nine calculators on Budget Tools — the 50/30/20 split, subscriptions, paycheck, emergency fund, net worth, housing, debt, investing, and crypto — run entirely in your browser.

The income, rent, debt balances, and any other figures you type are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. If you choose to save your work, it is written to your own browser's local storage on that device, under a single key, and it stays there until you clear it or clear your browser data. We have no copy and no way to retrieve it. The page says "Nothing you type leaves this device" because that is literally what the code does.

One consequence worth knowing: because it is stored on your device, your saved Budget Tools work does not follow you to another browser or another computer, and clearing your browser data deletes it permanently.

4. How we use it

We use the information above to:

  • create your account, sign you in, and keep you signed in;
  • run the product — serve modules and quizzes, save your progress, award XP and badges, run the games, and show rankings;
  • connect you with friends when you send or accept a request;
  • process subscriptions, apply your plan's access, and handle renewals and cancellations;
  • send you account and service email — address confirmation, password resets, and important notices about your account or the Service;
  • send occasional product news only if you opted in, with an unsubscribe link in every one;
  • keep the Service secure and working — preventing fraud, cheating, score manipulation, and abuse, and diagnosing faults;
  • meet our legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not use your data to train advertising models, and we do not use it for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

5. Cookies and browser storage

JagInsights does not set cookies. No first-party cookies, no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies. There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.

What we do use is your browser's own local storage, which never travels to a server automatically the way a cookie does. Three things live there:

  • Your sign-in session. Your authentication token from Supabase, so you are not asked to log in on every page. Signing out removes it.
  • Small interface preferences, such as whether game sound is on and whether you have dismissed a one-time tip.
  • Your Budget Tools entries, if you save them (see section 3).

You can clear all of it at any time through your browser's "clear site data" or privacy settings. Clearing it signs you out and erases saved Budget Tools work.

6. Who else touches your data

We keep this list short on purpose. These are every company involved in running JagInsights, and exactly what each one receives.

ProviderWhat it doesWhat it receives
Supabase
(United States)
Accounts, authentication, and the database that holds your progress. Also sends confirmation and password-reset email. Your email address, password hash, and all account data described in section 2. Connection metadata such as IP address in its service logs.
Stripe Payments and subscription management for paid plans, including the self-serve billing portal. Your card details, which you enter on Stripe's own page, plus your email and subscription details. Stripe's own privacy policy governs what it holds.
Cloudflare Hosting and content delivery for the site's pages, scripts, and images. Standard request data needed to deliver a web page — IP address, user-agent, and the URL requested. No account content.
Google Fonts Delivers the typefaces some pages use. Your browser requests a stylesheet and font files directly from Google's font servers, so Google's servers see your IP address and user-agent. No account data, and no fonts are used to track you.

These providers act on our instructions and may use the data only to deliver their service to us — not for their own marketing.

Beyond that, we disclose personal information only when we are legally required to (a valid subpoena, court order, or similar), when it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of JagInsights, our members, or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we will say so here before your data moves.

7. What is visible to other members

JagInsights has leaderboards. If you are signed in and appear on one, the following is visible to other signed-in members:

  • your username, and
  • your score, XP, or rank.

Your profile page can also show a bio, avatar, badges, and equipped cosmetics if you have set them. Your email address is never shown to other members, and the leaderboard functions that power the rankings return a username and a score only — never an email address or an account ID.

Because your username is the part that is public, pick a nickname rather than your real name or your email address. You can change it later from your profile.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists, because it is your account — your progress, streak, and badges only mean something if we keep them.

When you delete your account, the associated data is deleted at the same time (see section 9). A limited amount of information may persist afterwards where we are required to keep it or cannot avoid it:

  • Billing records. Stripe retains transaction records under its own retention rules and applicable tax and financial-record law, even after your JagInsights account is gone.
  • Provider logs. Routine server and security logs at our hosting and database providers roll off on their own schedules, typically within weeks.
  • Backups. Database backups may briefly contain deleted rows until they age out on their normal cycle.

9. Deleting your account

You do not have to email us and wait. Go to Settings → Delete Account and confirm. It is immediate and permanent.

Deleting your account:

  • cancels any active paid subscription at Stripe first, so you are not billed again;
  • deletes your login credentials, which invalidates your session everywhere; and
  • deletes your profile and every record attached to it — quiz results, module and video progress, badges, XP history, game stats, session history, leaderboard entries, friend requests, settings, and bonus claims.

There is no recovery and no undo. Your saved Budget Tools entries are unaffected by account deletion because they were never on our servers — clear your browser data to remove those.

If you only want to stop paying but keep your account, cancel instead: Settings → Manage subscription, or Billing → Open Customer Portal, takes you to Stripe's customer portal, where you can cancel, download invoices, or update your payment method yourself.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. In practice that means the whole site is served over HTTPS with strict transport security; a content security policy restricts which outside hosts the browser may contact at all; database access is governed by row-level security policies so one account cannot read another's private rows; passwords are never stored in readable form; and card data never enters our systems.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use a strong, unique password, and tell us at support@jaginsights.com if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.

11. Children's privacy

JagInsights is intended for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not direct the Service to them.

We want to be straightforward about how that is enforced: we do not ask for your age or date of birth at signup, so the age requirement is a representation you make when you agree to our Terms, not something we verify. We do not use age-verification services and we do not want the extra personal data collecting them would require.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has created an account, email support@jaginsights.com and we will delete the account and its data promptly.

12. International users

JagInsights LLC is based in Virginia, and the Service is operated from the United States. Our database and authentication provider stores account data in the United States. If you use JagInsights from outside the US, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.

13. Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can already do most of this yourself: view and edit your profile and settings in the app, cancel your plan through Stripe's portal, and delete your account and everything attached to it in one step from Settings. The sections below cover the rights you have on top of that.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, and the purposes; to request correction or deletion; and to know whether we sell or share your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We will never discriminate against you for exercising these rights, and you may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

EU, UK, and comparable regimes

If the GDPR, UK GDPR, or a similar law applies to you, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our legal bases are: performance of a contract (creating and running your account, delivering a paid plan), legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure, preventing cheating and fraud, and fixing faults), consent (optional marketing email, which you may withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (tax and financial records). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

How to exercise your rights

Email support@jaginsights.com from the address on your account. We will verify the request and respond within the time applicable law requires. If we decline a request, we will tell you why and you may ask us to reconsider.

14. Links to other sites

The Service links to third-party websites and resources we do not control — for example Stripe's billing pages. This policy does not cover them. Read their privacy policies before handing over information.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. When we do, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects your rights or how we handle your information, we will give clearer notice, such as an email or an on-site notice, before it takes effect. Continuing to use JagInsights after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
