A free financial literacy course you can finish in short sittings

Most financial literacy courses fail for the same reason: they are built like a textbook, and nobody finishes a textbook after work. This one is built in ten-minute pieces.

JagInsights is a free financial literacy course made of 57 short lessons, each ending in a quiz, covering budgeting, credit, debt, saving, investing, taxes, housing and retirement. You can start without paying; the optional Starter plan is $1.99 a month.

What the course covers

The library is grouped into the areas most people actually get stuck on, rather than the order a syllabus would use:

Why ten minutes matters more than depth

A lesson you finish beats a lesson you bookmark. Each module here is written to be read in one sitting and ends with a short quiz, because being asked a question is what moves something from "read that" to "know that". The quiz is not a gate — you can retake it, and nothing locks.

How this differs from a video course

Video is good at demonstration and bad at reference. When you need to remember how credit utilisation works six months from now, you want a page you can scan in forty seconds, not a 22-minute video with the answer at 14:30. Everything here is text you can re-read, search and skim.

The tools are part of the course

Reading about a 50/30/20 split is abstract until you put your own number in. Nine calculators sit alongside the lessons — budget split, subscriptions, paycheck, emergency fund, net worth, rent versus buy, credit-card payoff, investing growth and crypto exposure. They run entirely in your browser, so your figures stay on your device.

What it costs

You can create a free account and start. The Starter plan is $1.99 a month and unlocks the full game content; it renews automatically until you cancel, and cancelling keeps your access until the end of the period you paid for. There are no ads on any tier, because there is no advertising code on the site at all.

Who it is for

Adults who were never taught this, parents who want something their teenager will actually open, and students who need the practical version rather than the economics version. It assumes no background and never asks you to already know a term it has not explained.

What it is not

It is not financial advice, and JagInsights is not an adviser, broker or lender. It teaches general principles; it does not know your situation and cannot tell you what to do with your money. For decisions that matter, talk to a licensed professional.
