Read this first. JagInsights is education and entertainment, not personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. We are not licensed advisors. The games use play money, and nothing on this site executes a trade, opens a brokerage account, or holds real securities for you.

The basics

What is JagInsights?

JagInsights is a personal-finance learning site. It has 57 short Insights modules with a quiz at the end of each one, nine Budget Tools calculators that run in your browser, and finance games that drop you into real money situations and let you live with the consequences. It is built by JagInsights LLC, a Virginia company. It is a place to learn about money, not a bank, a broker, or an investing app. No real money moves through it.

Do I need to download anything?

No. JagInsights runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet, or laptop. There is nothing to install and no app store involved.

Is JagInsights financial advice?

No. Everything on the site is general education and entertainment. We are not licensed financial advisors, brokers, accountants, or attorneys, and nothing here is tailored to your situation. The calculators use simplified math and give you estimates, not a plan. For decisions that matter, talk to a qualified professional. The full version of this is in our Terms of Service.

Plans & billing

Is JagInsights free?

You can create a free account with just an email and a password. No credit card is asked for anywhere in signup. A free account gets you the Insights library and quizzes, the Budget Tools calculators, XP, badges, and a spot on the leaderboard. There is one paid plan, Starter, at $1.99 a month.

What does Starter cost and what does it unlock?

Starter is $1.99 a month, billed through Stripe, and you can cancel at any time. It unlocks the full Budget Boss character roster; a free account plays Maya and Marcus, and Starter opens the rest. It is also how the site gets paid for, since there is no advertising anywhere on it. The full plan comparison lives on the Plans page.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Sign in and open Billing from your account menu, or go to Settings and choose Manage Subscription. Either one opens Stripe's customer portal, where you cancel yourself, change your payment method, or pull receipts. Cancelling stops future charges; your Starter access runs to the end of the period you already paid for and then stops. There is no cancellation fee and you do not have to give a reason. Cancel at least a day before your renewal date to be sure the next charge does not go through. If you would rather we did it, email support@jaginsights.com.

Do you store my card number?

No. Payments run through Stripe, and your card details go straight to Stripe. JagInsights never sees or stores a card number. What we keep is a Stripe customer ID and subscription ID so we know which plan your account is on.

Privacy & your data

What data does JagInsights store about me?

Your email address and password (handled by Supabase, our authentication and database provider), the username and bio you choose, your XP, streak, quiz results, module progress, badges, game stats, equipped cosmetics, friend requests, your settings, and your plan and subscription status along with Stripe customer and subscription IDs. That is the whole list. There is no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking anywhere on the site. The only outside service your browser contacts when a page loads is Google Fonts, which delivers the typefaces. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Do the Budget Tools upload anything?

No. All nine calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are saved to that one device using local browser storage, and they are never sent to our servers. “Nothing you type leaves this device” is a literal description of how the page works, not a marketing line. Clear your browser data and the saved figures are gone.

Is anything about me public?

One thing: your username and XP total appear on the leaderboard, which other signed-in players can see. Your email address is never shown to other users. If you would rather not use your real name, change your username under Profile, then Account, at any time.

Learning & games

What is in the Insights library?

57 modules covering budgeting, saving, banking, credit, debt, housing and mortgages, investing, retirement, taxes, insurance, crypto, and the practical life-skill topics around them. Most take under ten minutes to read. Each one ends with a quiz, and you pass by getting 70 percent of the questions right.

How do the games teach money skills?

Budget Boss hands you a character with a real financial life, from a college student to a retired teacher, and makes you run their money. You choose what to pay, what to skip, what to save, and what to insure, and then a curveball lands. Your balance, your debt, and your credit score all move in response, so you see the cost of a decision instead of reading about it. Sixteen characters means sixteen different sets of constraints to solve.

How do XP, badges, and the leaderboard work?

Finishing modules, passing quizzes, and playing game rounds all earn XP. Every 500 XP moves you up a level. Badges are awarded for specific achievements rather than for time spent, such as finishing a Budget Boss run with zero debt or building a $5,000 emergency fund in game. Your total XP is what ranks you on the leaderboard. XP, badges, levels, and leaderboard position are for motivation only. They have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold, or transferred, and are not property.

Is JagInsights suitable for teenagers or a classroom?

You must be at least 13 to use JagInsights. If you are under 18, use it only with a parent or guardian's knowledge and consent, and only an adult may put a payment method on the account. The writing is aimed at older teens and adults, and because nothing on the site touches real money there is no financial risk in using it. One caveat worth knowing: signup does not ask for a date of birth, so nothing checks anyone's age. If you are a parent or a teacher, read through the Insights modules and play the games yourself before pointing anyone at them. There are no classroom, roster, or teacher-dashboard features today. The full rules are in Section 5 of the Terms.

Your account

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings, scroll to the danger zone at the bottom, type DELETE in the confirmation box, and press Delete Account. If you have an active subscription it is cancelled at Stripe first, then your login and your data, including your profile, quiz results, module progress, and badges, are removed. It cannot be undone, so export or write down anything you want to keep first.

How do I get support?

Email support@jaginsights.com. That address reaches a real person, and it is the right place for billing questions, bug reports, privacy requests, and anything the site got wrong. Include the email address on your account so we can find it.

Still stuck? Email support@jaginsights.com.
